Ve'ahavta Reports

Employment Services

A First-Year Story

In 2025, Ve’ahavta added an entirely new line of service – Employment Services, delivered under Ontario’s Integrated Employment Services model.

While recruitment was successful – we helped 233 participants against a target of 250 and exceeded recruitment goals – our job starts fell below target.

We attribute this underperformance to our initial programmatic structure, which had each client working with several staff members, at various stages of the employment journey, from Career Counsellor to Job Developer. Since pivoting to a relationship-first model, where clients are assigned to one Employment Specialist who stewards them throughout all stages of the employment process, we are seeing greater job start success and are confident that we’re on track to accomplish programmatic targets going forward.

"Ve'ahavta is different from other programs that help people who are homeless because they offer job training, life skills, and the push and care that people need to really move forward. Because of Ve'ahavta, I'm more confident in myself. I'm prepared to take on new challenges in my life."
