Ve'ahavta Reports

A Year of Strategic Giving

Meeting Donors Where They Are

Generosity is changing. People are giving more thought to how they give, not only how much, and many are looking for ways to give that do the most good while making the most of the tax benefits available to them.

Ve’ahavta spent the past year getting ready, building our strategic philanthropy capacity so that whatever form a donor’s generosity takes, we can receive it and steward it well.

43% of donations Ve’ahavta received from individuals this past year came through strategic giving.

For some, it was a gift of appreciated securities or mutual funds, which lets a donor contribute the full value of an asset without paying the capital gains tax. For others it was a donor-advised fund or a gift in a Will, a way to plan their giving over a longer horizon. This year we made these gifts simpler to choose than ever by meeting donors where they are.

What this makes possible is simple. The people who come to Ve’ahavta to get the tailored support they need to change their lives can count on us being here: for outreach, life stabilization, training and the path to employment – for generations to come.
